You must register as a landlord with the Scottish Landlord Register if you rent out a private residential property.
If you rent or plan to rent out a residential property, you must be registered as a private landlord on the Scottish Landlord Register. It is an offence to let out an unregistered property and we will consider enforcement action against you.
You can register yourself and your property for a period of 3 years.

If you submit your application late, we will charge you a £160 late fee. You cannot pay this online so will need to contact us directly to pay it.
The fee is applied to each joint owner, named in the title deeds, of the property being rented or advertised to let.
You can renew your registration up to 3 months before it expires without losing entitlement.
Renew your registration on the Scottish Landlord Register
We will charge you a late fee of £160 if you do not renew your licence before it expires.
We will apply the fee to each joint owner, named in the title deeds, of the property being rented or advertised to let.
We will send you 2 renewal reminders. You will receive them 3 months and 1 month before your renewal date.
You are legally required to keep your details up to date and accurate. You should notify us immediately if your details have changed or you are no longer a landlord.
