Details of who is registered to vote and how to access the register.

When you register to vote your details are also added to the electoral register.

What the electoral register is used for

We use the electoral register at elections and referendums to work out who can vote.

It can also be used for things such as detecting fraud or calling you for jury service.

The open register

An extract of the full register, called the open or edited register, is also available for anyone to buy. 

Your name and address are included in the open register unless you ask us to remove them. You can still vote if your details are removed.
