Education Services continue to have high expectations and high aspirations for pupils and staff. We aim to provide a good start in life for all and are committed to giving all our children and young people an equal chance to make the most of their potential.
We expect to see improvements in the outcomes for our children and young people in Dumfries and Galloway in these areas:
- improvement in attainment, particularly in literacy and numeracy
- closing the attainment gap between the most and least disadvantaged children
- improvement in children and young people's health and wellbeing
- Improvement in employability skills and sustained, positive school leaver destinations for all young people
