Events for children
Storytime sessions
Children aged 3 to 5 years can come along to Storytime to hear fun stories and rhymes. Storytime lasts 30 minutes. Parents and carers should stay and enjoy the session with their children.

Bookbug sessions
Children aged up to 5 can join our Bookbug sessions to enjoy stories, rhymes and songs. Bookbug sessions last 30 minutes and are a great opportunity for you and the children to meet new friends.

Bookbug's Library Challenge
Bookbug's Library Challenge is a free and fun way to encourage children to discover and enjoy their local library. There are 10 beautifully illustrated limited edition certificates to collect, by borrowing books from us as part of the challenge.
Children can take part until they are 7. It's a great way to get your child into the habit of visiting the library and developing a love of reading.
How to take the Bookbug Library Challenge
- Join the library.
- Pick up a collector's card from any local library.
- Get your card stamped each time you return books.
- Complete your card by collecting six stamps.
- Swap your completed card for a certificate.
- Start collecting more stamps on a new card.
