After you've made an enquiry

There are a number of steps that will follow after you've contacted us:

  1. Initial visit

Your query will go to one of the fostering and adoption team who will contact you to discuss your interest in more detail and will send you further information.

  2. Pre-approval course

This is a 4 day course which we currently run four times a year. After the course, you will be invited to make an application to be assessed as prospective adopters or foster carers.

  3. Home study report

The purpose of the home study report is to get to know more about you and undertake initial checks.

  4. Panel approval and registration

Your home study report will be presented to a panel who will then recommend whether or not you should be approved as an adoptive parent or foster carer.
