Peri Lamont is the Bikeability Coordinator for Dumfries and Galloway. Peri organises a team of paid and voluntary qualified Bikeability instructors.
The team delivered level 1 and level 2 Bikeability to 79 schools across the region in academic year 23 to 24. This is 83% of all the schools across the region.
The Bikeability programme equips children with essential life skills. Pupils learn to ride confidently in traffic as well and gain independence, social skills, and a sense of wellbeing.
Level 1 courses are delivered in playgrounds while level 2 courses take the young riders onto open roads to build their confidence in traffic situations.
The Bikeability team deliver in schools across all 4 terms, making for a very busy year for all involved!
