Our centre in Newton Stewart provides activities, support and personal development opportunities for people aged 16 years old and over with learning or physical disabilities.

Newton Stewart Activity and Resource Centre offers support, activities and personal development opportunities for people aged 16 and over. 

If you have a learning disability, a physical disability, or an autism spectrum disorder, or need extra support at different times in your life, we can help.

Referrals

To attend this centre, please speak to your social worker. If you do not have a social worker, you can request to have a social care assessment.

Services and personal support plans

Our skilled and experienced staff will work with you and your family and carers to put together a personal support plan about what matters to you. We will help you to achieve your personal goals and outcomes.

Our service can also support your family or carers by providing information and signposting you to a range of services which can offer guidance and practical support.

We will support you to:

  • take part in a wide range of activities
  • help you to travel as independently as possible
  • support you in community activities

We work in partnership with different agencies such as Disability Sport Scotland, NHS Health Improvement Team, Building Healthy Communities and Police Scotland. Together we will be able to offer activities that are of interest to you.
