Local Development Plan
The Local Development Plan (LDP) sets out how and where land and property will be used and where development will take place. Planning applications are assessed against the LDP.
What the Local Development Plan is and how it's used
The Local Development Plan (LDP):
- sets out where development should and should not happen
- shows where new homes and workplaces will be built
- outlines how services and facilities such as schools and travel will be provided
- identifies the places and buildings we value and want to protect
Decisions on planning applications are assessed against the LDP. All Scottish planning authorities have to have an LDP.
